Welcome!

I created this site for those that are interested in repairing their Windows XP registry. Whether you are savvy about computers or totally computer illiterate, I hope that the information here will help you in learning more about Windows XP registry repair.

About Me

My name is Brad Carter and I have been a computer consultant for the last 5 years in this industry. Technology changes so fast that it has been almost difficult to keep up with the latest trends. Most of my expertise is in the hardware and software area of personal computers.

Windows XP Registry Cleaner Software

I have been able to keep my computers optimized with Paretologic's RegCure Registry Cleaner. I use it mainly because of the fact that I can set the scans to a weekly schedule. I like to schedule registry scans on Friday nights when I leave the office for the weekend.

Anyway, check out my review or scroll down the blog.

How To Manually Backup Windows Registry

Since you already know how to get into the windows registry using the run command in the start menu. I'm going to show you how to manually backup windows registry.

Step 1: Click on File

Step 2: Click on Export

Step 3a: Type in a filename
Step 3b: In the bottom section, you can see that you can select the entire registry or just a particular branch. In my example, I am saving the ENTIRE registry.

Step 4: You should have a .reg in the location you save the file to

Now you have a copy of the registry!

I'm not that computer saavy, but Jv16 Powertools (macecraft.com) is way easier to use and keeps my computer running fast and smooth. It installed within minutes (I was expecting at least half an hour) and I got back to using my computer in no time! My desktop comes up in no time when I turn my machine on and I am so happy with it.

Just a heads up here... Jv16 has a new version you may want to try or upgrade to. It could make your computer run even faster so, I dunno. Give it a go and see what happens.
